2015 Captain – Joe Egan

I am hugely honored to be writing to you as Captain of The Galway Association Golf Society (London) and I’d like to start by thanking Frank Gill for the great job he did last year as Captain, it was a pleasure working with him and I know I have a lot to live up to this year. I’m delighted to introduce Tom Gallagher as my Vice-Captain. Tom has been a great supporter and Sponsor of the Society for many years.

Congratulations to our Major Winners last year: Andrew Doyle – Golfer of the Year, Thady McGloin Matchplay Champion and Frank Gill – Irish Tour Golfer of the week.

As usual we begin our season at the Buckinghamshire Golf Club on 15th April 2015 and we continue through the season at all our favourite venues.

2014 was a momentous year in the history of the Galway Association Golf Society. Having embarked on a challenge in 2005 to play Golf in all 32 counties of Ireland, we finally achieved our dream last year and on behalf of the committee I want to sincerely thank all those who joined the group and made this possible and so enjoyable. We played some incredible Golf courses along the way, and have some great memories to cherish.

This year an exciting new chapter begins, having conquered the length and breadth of Ireland, there was a unanimous vote at our recent AGM for this year’s Tour to go the USA where we will visit the World famous Pinehurst Resort in North Carolina. Full details of this amazing opportunity for a holiday of a lifetime are enclosed..

On behalf of all the members I’d like to sincerely thank our sponsors who continue to support the GAGS each year. It is very much appreciated. Likewise a big thank you to the GAGS committee who do so much work on our behalf to make sure that the Golfing year is always such a great success.

Good luck to you all and I look forward to seeing you at the Buckinghamshire on Wednesday 15th April.

Yours sincerely,
Joe Egan,
