2012 Captain – Brian Lennox

Dear Members,

It is an honour for me to be writing to you as Captain of The Galway Association Golf Society (London).

Let me first thank Terry O’Connor for the great job he did last year as Captain. Terry handled the role in an extremely smooth and professional manner. Secondly, I am very pleased to announce that Andrew Doyle (Junior) will be my Vice Captain, and both of us are very much looking forward to the coming season.

We start as usual at the Buckinghamshire Golf Club on 4th April 2012 and continue through the season at all our favourite venues. Come September we shall be returning to Ireland to enjoy a week of great Golf and a lot of fun!

Congratulations to our “Golfer of the Year”, Terry O’Connor, what a great year for Terry winning the competition during his reign as Captain of the society. Our “Matchplay Championship” was won by previous Captain, Pat McDonagh. Pat has been a finalist in the last few years and it’s nice to see him take the crown, well done Pat.

On our Irish tour, the “Golfer of the week” was our Chairman, Michael Corcoran who kept the chasing pack in tow, with some sparkling Golf.

On behalf of all the members I’d like to sincerely thank our sponsors who continue to support the GAGS each year. It is very much appreciated.

Likewise a big thank you to the GAGS committee who do so much work on our behalf to make sure that the Golfing year is always such a great success.

Good luck to you all and I look forward to seeing you at the Buckinghamshire this Wednesday 4th April.

Yours Sincerely,
Brian Lennox
Captain 2012
